away! ABSTRACTS ARE DUE ON FRIDAY JUNE 30TH. Abstract instructions are

Please note the change in venue. The Symposium will now be held at the
Landmark Convention Center in Tacoma, located at 47 Saint Helens Avenue.
This is just north of the downtown area and there is convenient, free
parking. We will have a map and driving instructions on our web site soon.
We have an excellent program shaping up, including speakers, field trips,
workshops, and panel discussions. Most field trips will occur the weekend
before the Symposium (Saturday October 14 and/or Sunday October 15).
Workshops will be on the final day of the Symposium (Wednesday October 18).
The program and registration packets will be available in July. We will
send another e-mail at that time.

ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS
Please submit an electronic document in Microsoft® Word (preferably 97) or a
camera-ready document (hard copy) which abides by the following
specifications and has been proofread and spell-checked for errors. The
entire abstract is limited to one page. Any abstract which does not follow
this format will be returned to the author. Example abstracts are included
below. The abstract deadline is June 30, 2000.
Margins
top - 1 inch
bottom - 1 inch
left - 1 inch
right - 1 inch
Spacing
All text is single spaced. There should be a double space between each of
the elements (i.e. between the word "Oral" or "Poster" and the title,
between the title and the author’s name, between the author’s name and the
body text, between body text paragraphs, and between the body text and the
authors’ information).
Type of Presentation
A notation should be made in the top, right-hand corner of the paper as to
whether the presentation is "Oral" or "Poster." The font should be the same
as the body of the text (Arial 12 point). There should be a double space
between this notation and the title.

A/V Equipment Needs
In your email or with your camera-ready hard copy, please indicate your
audio-visual equipment needs - be it overhead projector, slide projector, or
multimedia projector. Laptop computers will NOT be provided.
Abstract Deadline
Each abstract must be formatted according to the specific directions. An
electronic document (Microsoft® Word ) or camera-ready hard copy must be
