Pre-release notice for April 23, 2012 “EYES OVER PUGET SOUND”
On April 26, 2012 we will post Monday’s surface condition report for Puget Sound. If you want to look at unprocessed aerial photos of today’s morning flight (Seattle - Sinclair Inlet - Case Inlet - Dana Passage - Budd Inlet) go to:
Today’s evening flight photos will be posted tonight between 5 and 6 PM
Eyes Over Puget Sound (EOPS) Goal:
We provide timely, spatially nested information on visible surface features in Puget Sound to improve temporal and spatial context. EOPS material supports awareness, education, and inspires others.
A cost-effective environmental news product:
We use routine empty transit flights between Kenmore Airbase and Olympia to document current marine surface conditions by camera. We supplement the information with satellite images, en route ferry, weather and mooring data.
We hope the images are inspiring and informative.
With best regards,
Christopher and the Marine Monitoring Unit
